Meet the Director
Barry Morris is a Psychologist, leadership coach, and co-founder of Shield of Care. He enjoys life with his wife Anna and their three energetic sons, embracing the beautiful chaos of family, footy, and the great outdoors. With a background in mental health, trauma-transforming care, and leadership development, Barry has spent his career walking alongside individuals and families doing it tough—especially those navigating the NDIS, out-of-home care, and systems that too often forget the person we are here to serve.
Barry’s personal mission is to see people live with hope, dignity, and purpose. One of his greatest strengths is building genuine, lasting relationships—with participants, families, and support teams. At Shield of Care, relationships are not outsourced. Barry remains personally connected with the people we support, because real care starts with real connection. He believes that when people feel known and safe, they can begin to heal, grow, and live with meaning.
WHO ARE WE?
We’re a values-driven team of support workers, registered nurses, and care professionals who believe that how we care is just as important as what we do. At Shield of Care, we show up with compassion, consistency, and a deep respect for the people we support. Whether we’re working with an NDIS participant, an older person receiving aged care at home, or walking alongside a family in need of guidance, we’re here to make every moment meaningful.
Our team culture is what sets us apart — we engage with warmth, humility, good communication, and genuine connection. We care for each other the way we care for our clients: with kindness, humour, and a shared passion for helping people live with dignity, purpose, and belonging. This isn’t just a workplace—it’s a community of people committed to making a real difference.
WHY ARE WE HERE?
Shield of Care was born from two couples coming together with a shared vision: to create something different in the world of care. We had each seen first-hand how people—participants, families, carers—can be overlooked in a system that’s meant to support them. We knew there had to be a better way. So we started with what matters most: people.
We’re here because we believe care should feel like connection. That compassion isn’t optional—it’s foundational. And that every person, no matter their background or need, deserves to be known, respected, and supported with dignity. Whether it’s aged care, in-home support, or walking alongside NDIS participants, we’re driven by the belief that people thrive when they feel seen, heard, and valued.
This is more than a service. It’s a calling—and it started with a few hearts determined to make a difference. Now, it continues with you.
